Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Modular is part of Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Limited which was established in 1999. A UK-Based, privately owned, international provider of infrastructure and clinical services supporting healthcare clients worldwide.
Our purpose-designed and built mobile and modular facilities provide our clients with new or replacement healthcare spaces including operating theatres, endoscopy suites and sterilisation and diagnostic departments. As part of our solution to our clients we also support them with clinical teams and equipment for our facilities.
The Group Technical Director is a new role that is required because of Vanguard’s growth and 5-year strategy. The role is pivotal to ensuring the technical competency and credentials of our products and services are focussed on the competencies of Vanguard and the very specific requirements of our healthcare customers.
This is a group role and the postholder will be expected to frequently travel within the UK and overseas including regular travel to our Netherlands facility and across wider Europe which will require periods away from home. Occasional travel to support our Australian operations team may also be required.
Responsibilities
- Creating, leading, and directing a team of technical designers, CAD operators and various technical experts across a matrix structure
- Participate in and Lead as required Technical Development Teams within the organisation to ensure seamless integration of technical solutions into our mobile and modular products
- Identification, assessment, and selection of strategic design and technical partners to contribute to the development of our high-quality clinical solutions
- Actively support the work winning activities of the group through the delivery of feasibility designs for inclusion within external offer
- Create and maintain an external network of client, supplier stakeholders and relevant Trade Associations (MBPA, HEFMA, IHEEM) to support the growth and innovation activities of the group
- Actively participate in the co-development of technical solutions with selected partners, prioritising innovation, and efficiency
- Oversee the correct implementation of technical solutions, ensuring they meet set quality standards (ISO) and client expectations
- Ownership of ISO accreditation and audit processes ensuring both statutory requirements and business growth opportunities are effectively identified and communicated
- Work on the standardisation of technical installation solutions to promote efficiency, scalability, and repeatability in our projects
- Explore new technologies and methods to continually improve the development of our modular construction solutions

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, in a technical field, such as Engineering, Construction, Architecture or similar
- Proven Quality Assurance experience
- Awareness of specialise medical MEP systems Proven experience in project management and strong leadership experience with leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Understanding and proven experience of partner selection and work winning activity
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions
- Experience in the implementation and management of ISO certification standards
